The things we see…

The things we see

The things we hear

The things we do

The things we say

If we were to Stop each day for a minute and look around us what would we see?

If we stopped and listened, what would we hear?

If we stopped a little while what do we do?

I have noticed, after the little monsters arrived.

Especially a little after they begun getting so big so fast, that time can be our enemy or our ally, I want it to be my ally.

I want every moment in my life, in our life to mean something.

I subconsciously started slowing down.

Subcutaneously.

Ever since I made a note about in one of my previous entries “Time!” I somehow have been able to look at the very small and amazing details around me.

My husband calls my journal, my camera and my pencils an appendage. I can continue a daily activity whether it’s playing with the little monsters, dancing around, or cooking, when I slow down and make a note. (Pen to paper or visual with my phone or my camera)

{ I wish the pixels and the exposure on a phone camera could be adjusted, but they will do.}

I find myself reading more and learning, not only by doing, but by sitting down for a while and studying new artful ways I can better my self expression.  In my ventures into learning I found an amazing articles on Clikin Moms, ironically enough, in my venture to capture as many moments as I can, I wondered upon a great article.  It goes into great detail on how we can all better our phone pictures: http://www.clickinmoms.com/blog/tips-for-taking-beautiful-photos-with-your-iphone-by-jo-clark/

I haven started trying it out.

It will take me a little while.

I can’t wait to see the possibilities.

Like any other photographer and artist in the world, it would be magnificent to have the ability to carry my SLR camera, pen and pad every where that I go. But this would leave little room and arms space for anything else.  I wonder what I would look like pulling into to a grocery store.  Two little monsters, one in each arm, my purse, a carriage, grocery bags, and an SLR.  Well anSLR just in case the light hits the water particles in the lettuce just right.  Amazing is the very thought, and in my head it’s the funniest moment yet.

In the learning process, because we are always learning, I have been able to be more disciplined and let my true inspiration lead my hand and my eye (sort of speak). Subconsciously some of the pictures I have taken in the recent months have been more detail oriented than any others I have taken in my photographic and artistic journey.

It’s amazing what happens if you pause for a moment and look up or down or left or right. Look at the corner of that painting like you’ve never looked at it before. Notice how the lamp on the that little side table in the forgotten corner in your living room lights that wall. Take a second and listen to the tone in your voice, listen to the saxophone playing in your favorite song.

(My favorite sound in the present time is the way my three year old little monster’s voice increases an octave when anyone tells him he can draw anything he wants for as long as he wants. In that moment, in that time, I feel, I hear more than I have in that whole day. )

The pictures I will post here are ones taken on my iPhone, and while I am learning to perfect them, they are but pictures taken on and iPhone. 😉

I look forward to looking a little closer, listening a little longer, and exploring a little more.

I want to take a journey with you and your loved ones, through pictures and into your imagination, we together can make anything possible.
